Meet the Staff

Maureen Noftsinger, DVM

Dr. Noftsinger developed a love for veterinary medicine in pre-school and worked and volunteered in numerous hospitals before going to college.  It is reported that she wanted to be a veterinarian, a cowgirl or an artist at the age of 4.  She had as many pets as her mom would allow and then did pet-sitting at an early age to get more!   She worked for a professional dog handler in high school and throughout college as well as working at the Old Towne School for Dogs in Alexandria.  She attended George Mason University and earned a BS in Psychology.  She attended Virginia Tech for veterinary school and graduated in 2001.  She came directly to EVS from veterinary school and has helped grow the practice into the 24 hour emergency and critical care facility that it is.  She is actively involved in Virginia Veterinary Medicine both at the state and local levels.

Dr. Noftsinger has 2 children, 2 dogs (a Goldendoodle, a Cockapoo), a guinea pig, 2 hermit crabs, a canary and 4 chickens.  She is an avid Hokie fan.  She loves hiking, trail running, camping, paddling, biking, swimming (basically anything in the outdoors!)  Her special interests are critical care and surgery.
